A 21-year-old turned his small side gig into a $500,000-a-year enterprise from his family’s apartment

Three years ago, high schooler Jason Siu was selling simple $3 stickers on Snapchat to fund car upgrades.

Today, that side hustle, named Invalid.jp, earns over $500,000 annually, dealing in stickers and trendy car accessories, from glowing mirrors to designer cupholders and license plates.

Now in his third year at the University of Hawaii, Siu purchases items in large quantities, customizes them, and sells them at a higher price for profit. He’s recently taken on a warehouse space for his expanding operation, which he initially started in his parents’ modest-sized apartment in Honolulu.

To date, Siu estimates he’s gained about $400,000 from his venture, boosted by his success on TikTok. A viral video featuring his products resulted in $38,000 worth of sales in just one day.

While he doesn’t earn big sums daily, Siu has strategized to earn more consistently, often relying on social media advertisements to keep his business profitable.

And profitable, it is…
